about

In the fall of 2007, Kip Kraisinger approached his friends (Dave Jensen, George Valyer, Ronnie Murphy, Darren Tuck & Rusty Wiley) about starting a band in attempt to turn all of his musical ramblings into actual songs, have a good time and share their appreciation for making music. So, Shotgun McCoy & the Volunteers were born, unleashing their fury in a handful of live shows. Shortly after, Kip Kraisinger moved to Denver, Colorado and Shotgun was no more. However, all stayed in contact and constantly discussed the idea of actually recording some of the songs they used to play. After a year and a half, Kip moved back to Kansas and the recording finally came to fruition in the fall of 2010. The group headed to Blacklodge Studio in Eudora, Kansas with no practice or playing since their last show and recorded this track, The Gunfight, over a weekend. Due to some scheduling conflicts, Patrick Unrein joined the project and filled in on lead guitar with Nick Colby of Ultimate Fakebook and Dead Girls fame filling in on bass. Friend Eric Padilla also stopped by and contributed some vocals. The project was given a new name of Wolf Creek, with the only aspiration of making music with friends. Maybe we'll keep making music, maybe we won't and maybe we shouldn't. Anyway, hope you enjoy this free track. Thanks!
